I was introduced to Yoga 20 years ago and immediately loved the flow, balance and strength Yoga gave me. I am not naturally bendy or an ex-dancer but over the years I have gained flexibility, suppleness, stamina and strength, but most importantly I have learnt to relax and restore my body. Yoga has always been there for me and has become a part of my life that continues to evolve.
I had been wanting to train as a Yoga teacher for some time, but the time was never right. After running a business for 15 years and the birth of my daughter the time was right aged 48! I qualified with Simon Low at The Yoga Academy, a British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) accredited school (200 hours) a two year teacher training course and have been teaching in Sussex for 11 years.
My teaching is inspired by the many styles I have practiced Astanga, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga. I teach Vinyasa Flow & Yogalates; Vinyasa flow is a series of asanas (postures) synchronised with the breath smoothly flowing from one asana to another focusing on alignment. A dynamic flow with modifications increasing strength, flexibility, improves range of mobility, reduces stress. Suitable for all abilities - please note this is a dynamic flow!
Having recently suffered with back pain from lifting I have reconnected with my love of Pilates and recently completed my training L3 Diploma in Pilates. Yogalates combines both Yoga & Pilates - Yogalates brings more of a focus on the centre of the body, strengthening and toning muscles, giving internal strength and improving posture, it provides flexibility and balance while uniting the body and mind. Suitable for all abilities.
The Pilates class I teach is suitable for complete Beginners and those with a little experience, following the classical Joseph Pilates exercises layering up as you become familiar and stronger. Pilates helps with balance, posture, strength & flexibility, suitable for all ages.
Vinyasa Flow, Yogalates & Pilates invite you to be exactly as you are.
